Making an Action Plan - Visually
So parts of this course I enjoyed involved "getting messy". I hate ruining a page in the book with meaningless stuff, however at the same time it's quite liberating. The left page shows my "visual action plan" - it's reckless and messy, but playful. I went back to the early stages of the course with the different mediums, here I used watercolour pencils, yellow spray paint, and pen ink nib. I've recently purchased the ink nib, and I have to say I do love the results.
As soon as the nib hit the paper on the left, I couldn't stop with the splats, the bleed and all the fun stuff, I immediately embraced it and loved it. It reminded me of an Illustrator, Ben Tallon, who's book I had read during the first lockdown and have since been following. This inspired me to follow on with an ink observational drawing of two poppy heads that sat on my desk. Using the Spray paint as the base, I loved how the ink and colour pop from the page!
I think the double spread is a summary of what I would like to achieve, even after the course. I just want to be able to create good work and enjoy it. Enjoy the result, and enjoy the process.
