Introducing The Sketchbook Club – Illustrator Edition, a relaxed and social event designed to help you develop illustrations based on creative briefs and prompts. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your creative process, this session offers a supportive space to practise drawing, activate your imagination, and create visuals that tell stories.

 

You'll learn to use your sketchbook as a tool for brainstorming, developing concepts, and refining ideas into complete or near-complete illustrations. Each month features a new prompt designed to challenge your thinking and spark your imagination. You're welcome to work with drawing, mixed media or collage to bring your ideas to life.

 

We'll explore the use of reference images and research, discussing how they can support your ideas and strengthen your visual storytelling. You can use the session as a creative challenge, a chance to generate new ideas, or an opportunity to make progress on existing illustration projects.

 

Think of this as an additional Sketchbook Club session in the month, with prompts that place greater emphasis on developing original ideas and creating your own illustrative work. Feedback and advice will be available on request, but the focus remains on a friendly, social atmosphere where experimentation is encouraged and every idea is worth exploring.

 

I will guide you through each month's prompt on arrival, sharing practical tips on approaching briefs, research, and references, helping you feel confident in developing and expressing your own creative ideas.

• Drinks are available as an additional purchase in the cafe.
• Sketchbooks are not included. Remember to bring your own or loose paper.
• Limited tools available to use.
• Must book a seat in advance, walk ins are not possible at the moment.

Tickets are £25.50 per person.
There is also an online booking fee of 50p.
